Jeralyn Beach
Jeralyn Beach

General Manager

Jeralyn Beach became the General Manager of Penn's Corner Farm Alliance in April 2017. As a resident of Upper Lawrenceville, this lucky lady can easily stroll to work and to some of the best restaurants in the city! Jeralyn studied local food systems as a part of Chatham University's Masters of Arts in Food Studies inaugural class. At PCFA, Jeralyn uses that vast knowledge to help facilitate the movement of local food from surrounding farms to people, restaurants, and institutions in the Pittsburgh area. When she's not thinking "big picture" about the local food system, she's enjoying it like the rest of us. Her favorite local treat is sweet corn, eaten straight from the field. Talk about shortening the supply chain!

Alex Rowland
Alex Rowland

Wholesale Manager

As Wholesale Manager, Alex Rowland acts as translator between our regional chefs and farmers. He is no stranger to balancing two worlds; though he lives in Wilkinsburg, PA and appreciates all the amenities that the Pittsburgh area has to offer, he loves how quickly he can escape to the woods. Alex is a big fan of local food, especially cucumbers (eaten sliced with a generous sprinkle of sea salt), but his current favorite is Paul Family Farm maple syrup, which he adds to his coffee every morning, like a true woodsman working a 9-5 job.

Lars Cain
Lars Cain

Operations Manager

Lars Cain is a no-nonsense kinda guy, the perfect kinda guy to be an Operations Manager. Lars has been PCFA's Operations Manager for four years, and just like an eagle, soaring high above the land, Lars takes a bird's-eye view of our region while designing our distribution model. Lars is a man of few words, but he will tell you that his favorite local product is Riverview Dairy Goat Milk Yogurt. And if you're wondering when he enjoys it, he enjoys it, "for breakfast." Of course.

Karen Bullock
Karen Bullock

Retail Sales Manager

Karen joined the PCFA team in May 2017 as the Retail Sales Manager, leading our CSA and Online Farm Stand programs. As such, she probably has a good idea of what you had for dinner last night. But Karen isn't nebby, and since she grew up in the Chicago area, she may not even know what nebby means. But, she would look it up. When asked what her spirit animal is, Karen dutifully took a quiz to find out. We were not surprised to learn that it is a deer, a graceful and intuitive creature.

Miranda Hileman Combs
Miranda Hileman Combs

Resident Miranda

Miranda Hileman Combs has been working for PCFA since February 2017, initially coordinating the Farm Stand program. Her family farm, Kistaco Farm, has been a member of Penn's Corner Farm Alliance since 2002. Miranda is part of the fourth generation of Kistaco Farm, and moved back to work there full-time with her husband in 2015. Most often, you'll find her selling their homegrown fruits and vegetables at their on-farm market. Miranda loves blueberries, and is often guilty of eating more than she sells!

Johanna Klotz
Johanna Klotz

Office Manager

Johanna began working as PCFA's Office Manager in June 2017. She has a real knack for converting her great need to micro-manage into a skill set best used in front of a computer. Johanna has been working in food retail in Pittsburgh, her adopted city, for ten years! She loves local food and local food gossip, especially delicata squash. If you ever want to dish the dirt on this thin-skinned winter squash, let her know. Johanna's spirit animal is a turtle, she's pretty slow-moving and never far from a body of water.

Cicil Corson
Cicil Corson

Truck Driver Extraordinaire

Cicil has been driving for PCFA since May of 2017. As a Penn's Corner driver, Cicil gets to travel all over Southwestern PA, picking up food from our local farms and dropping off at restaurants and pick-up spots. So we know she knows what's up when she says her favorite thing about Pittsburgh is the plethora of nature (and friendly feral kitties) right in the city. There are also plenty of mulberries, which Cicil eats right off the branch. Since her other favorite local food is sauerkraut eaten right out of the jar, we've deduced that while Cicil loves food, she's not a huge fan of utensils.
