CSA is Community Supported Agriculture
The Penn's Corner CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) sign up is here! Fresh fruit, vegetables, and farm products are right around the corner. Sign up for a 8, 22, or 30 week CSA season. While many CSA's and farmer's markets don't begin until May or June, Penn's Corner CSA begins the middle of April and continues into November.
Penn's Corner delivers weekly boxes of farm fresh produce to neighborhoods all around Pittsburgh. With a CSA membership, you will also receive a weekly e-newsletter with recipes, cooking information, and a list of what will be in the box that coming week.
Penn's Corner CSA is expanding again this season. There will be more pickup locations offered in 2009, so please let us know if you are willing to be a new site. Also, please see our projected list of pickup locations listed at the bottom of this page (this list is subject to change, please let us know if you have suggestions). Also, please note that the first eight weeks of CSA (April-mid June) may not be available at all locations. Please email us for clarification or confirmation.
The CSA deliveries will be on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons starting in April. Each box wil have between 7-10+ items a week. Almost every week will include seasonal fruit and another non-vegetable items such as gourmet mushrooms, wild honey, free-range eggs, local cheese, or fresh pasta.
